Is this Pilates?
Although there are similarities, this is not Pilates. The Lagree method is based on the principles of Pilates and paired with weight bearing exercises to create a total body conditioning workout. The main difference is the Megaformer, and the class structure. Classes are sequenced to provide intensity and cardiovascular elements that traditional Pilates does not.
At The Pursuit, you get the intensity of weighted training, the heart-pumping effects of cardio, and the core strengthening benefits of Pilates all in one 50 minute class.
I'm new to Lagree. Should I take a private lesson first?
We don't require you to start with a private lesson if you're a beginner. Classes are held in a group setting where people of all fitness and experience levels will be challenged within their abilities. Our certified instructors can help adjust the exercise to accommodate everyone.
If you have specific medical conditions or injuries, we recommend private sessions first so we can assess your fitness level and tailor the session to your specific needs. Please email us with any questions: info@thepursuitstudio.com.
How do I schedule a class?
It's simple! We have a user-friendly and secure software system for purchasing and scheduling classes. Click here to create a user account, purchase, schedule, and track your visit history. If you forget your password or need help, don't hesitate to contact us.
What will my first class be like?
For your first class, we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early so your instructor can give you a brief overview of the Megaformer and get you set up. If you aren't able to arrive 10 minutes early, your instructor may ask that you reschedule so he/she has the proper amount of time to get you ready.
Be sure to let your instructor know if you have any injuries or health conditions that they should be aware of.
What should I bring?
+ Grip socks are mandatory for safety and are available at the studio for purchase
+ Wear clothes that you can comfortably move in, similar to what you would wear to the gym
+ Bring a hand towel - you're going to sweat!
+ We provide filtered water but you'll want to bring your own water bottle
+ Jewelry is not a good idea since it can get caught on the machines (and get expensive)
+ Refrain from wearing strong perfumes or cologne
+ Please no cell phone use during class
+ Give yourself 50 minutes to the workout - you deserve it
I'm addicted to The Pursuit. How often should I work out?
We would love to see you daily, but we also believe in rest and recovery. The workout is designed to work your muscles to fatigue, and your muscles can't change without proper rest between workouts. We recommend 3-4 times a week, but trust your body, your goals, and your determination.
I'm pregnant. Can I come work out?
If you're pregnant and have never tried Lagree before, we don't recommend starting classes. You should be focused on maintaining your health and well-being (not trying crazy new things). Clients who have been regularly attending classes at The Pursuit may continue working out with us with your doctor's consent.
As always, consult your physician before starting any new fitness plans.
What if I'm late to class?
Please plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to your class time. For your safety and the safety of other clients, we can't allow access to those who arrive more than 5 minutes after the start of class. If you're more than 5 minutes late, your spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist.
What if I can't make it to class?
The Pursuit has a 12 hour cancellation policy (24 hours for private and duet sessions). If you cancel online or on the mobile app prior to the 12 hour window, there is no penalty. Cancellations within the 12 hour window will be subject to a fee. Please read about the Cancellation Policy at the bottom of this page.
How does the waitlist work?
The waitlist allows you to queue yourself in line for a spot in a class that is full. If a spot opens up prior to the 12 hour cancellation window, you will be added to the class and receive an email confirmation. You will be responsible for removing yourself from the waitlist if you find that you cannot attend the class, since all of the cancellation penalties apply if you are added to the class and no-show.
